Hi Guys,

Is there an alternative for the SPI throttle position JZX2962/MMJ10003?

Many Thanks.

Not that I’m aware of......

There are similar ones but the direction of travel and the sprung side is different

Technically is it possible to `fix` it, like get another similar size model, switch the internal parts?

I'm sure it was a fairly standard Rover part, as the one I had on a K-series Freelander looked identical.

As FS said, the direction of travel may be different on some, but I'd personally look for one from any MEMS controlled engine (e.g. early k-series), as the resistance range ought to be the same.

by the way the early K series engines had plastic throttle bodies where the butterfly frequently became distorted, so most repairers just threw the old one out.

The new one came with a TPS already fitted, so it may be worthwhile looking for the whole plastic throttle body on ebay & asking the seller to check the serial number on the TPS. It just unscrews.

I think I kept one, so will try to check......

Sorry Pogue 13

I found an old K - Series potentiometer & its number is different JZX345(or 9)1

Maybe MEMS was more versatile than I thought.

Good luck in the search

Standard rover part, got a box full of these from various rovers when you could still walk round breakers yards. Just make sure the part number matchs up .

The one in the picture doesn't look correct...unless its just for "illustration purposes only" on that site.

Yeh, the one pictured above is for the MPi or other Rover Variants. The SPi TPS is for the SPi TPS. It has a lever arm on the rear and it's spring loaded too. I havent't seen one used anywhere else.

Might be worth picking up and keeping as a spare seeing as these are getting harder to find.

This is from Japan, please google it in english to read. Not a direct potentiometer replace, instead they supply an adapter with another model of potentiometer, for your reference.
