Ive removed the valance and closers from the car to take a look at the patch that's been applied to the boot floor.

It shows that there are a couple of patches on patches, holes in front of the subframe mount plates, which are also crusty and showing signs of rust bulge between plates and boot floor.

The wheel well also has a hole and is pretty thin in places.

The rest of the floor looks pretty good.

Not sure which way to go, full floor replacement (already replacing floors, inner and outer sills) or just add a boot floor 1/4 panel plus fab up some mount stiffener plates.

If you have the budget then replace the complete boot floor. I bet if you strip that bitumen off the underside there will be more stuff lurking.

Full floor this is the same for us chasing rust, its a better nicer finish with a full floor and you no the rot is all gone then.

Full floor it is then.
I’ve already bought 2 half floors, I intend to do the boot floor first, then probably full heel board as the ends are shot.
I’m assuming that the order would be
1. Remove boot floor
2. Install boot floor
3. Remover heel board, leave ends of existing floor in place
4. Install heal board, weld onto boot floor and tunnel
5. Install floors, will be replacing flitch on both sides so can slide floors into heel board.

Sound like a plan?

I would repair main floor first then heelboard, then fit boot floor. But I don’t think it matters as long as you don’t remove everything at once, I just found the order I did helped with maintaining reference points for the alignment of subframe, I also checked dimensions as well.

If you can, I would take the half floor panels/sills back and get the fully built floor. You will save yourself hours and hours of work
