HI guys! I am thinking on upgrading my engine and would like to have some advice from you.

Spec at the moment:

- 1275 A+ engine

- +0,30 piston

- Full stg 1 kit (RC40 maniflow + k&n + bits)

- 123 distributor

- bosch grey coil

- champion n9yc sparks

- lucas performance lead set 8mm

- aluminum 3 core radiator

- hs4 carb with some tweaks (needle + spring)

- 3,44 original gearbox

I would like to get aprox 90bhp at the flywheel, so lets do a buy bits list to make that possible

Things I have:

- Lightened flywheel

- hif 44 (not in perfect working condition) a lot of needles, etc

Things I have to buy:

- LETS DO THIS (Thats what jeremy said)

Thanks a lot

Agustin

Hi Nick! Thank always for the answers. The standard air filter box would perfectly suit my hif 44 also? Why not using a k/n cone filter?

How can I do a complete service of my carb? It seems inside to be like very wasted

Any helps? Thank you

carb info

http://sucarb.co.uk/technical/

having the flat surface opposite the carb opening seems to do something with creating standing waves as you get sound reflected of that flat surface. also it is LOUD.

Can we do a parts list with everything needed?

So as to buy every bit to make it fully working

Here I leave you some pictures of my hif 44 carb

Get an SU rebuild kit. The overhaul itself is simple enough.

Phil.

This. The hardest part will be drifting out the butterfly spindle bushes, just make sure you note all screw positions, especially the fuel mix screw and idle screws

Perfect, you will need a 1990-1996 front subframe though, so you can run the HIF carb

You really don't need to match the subframe to the HIFcarb

If clearance is an issue which I doubt with a 1275, then an adjustable engine steady is all that is needed.

The carb is really pitted, have you any photos of where the butterfly plate seats in the main bore ?

Has it been sand blasted ?
