Just won a set of new old stock door hinges of ebay, so once they have arrived we can get the door post all lined up. I am going to try and get the door step panel in this weekend, in between work. Itching to get something solid on this car...

We are now at the point that the door step can be tacked in now, so hoping that will be done this week and I can think about rebuilding the rest of that side then...

There’s no better feeling then when something starts going back together. I miss having a project and something to fettle with after work.

Got an hour or so on the mini last night and bit the bullet cut the whole corner out now, trimmed it all back, few more holes done ready for plug welding but after a few more small tweaks I am hoping to get this tacked in place later and double check the door fits nice then weld this in. Few pics of lining up in the inner closing panel and the door step itself.

You need to slow down a bit, at this rate you'll be done before me :-)

Haha no way your miles ahead of me! I think our dream of IMM in this mini is fading away...

Nice progress! I cannot wait to start cutting mine up but I will be a bit nervous at the same time! I think its all the lining up that I will be struggling with

Dont worry I am the same, now got the task of sorting the door hinge panel out and getting the door to fit really not looking forward to that...

You will be fine just keep checking and taking your time..

I'm in no rush, im allowing 4 years on this build!

Well the panel gaps cannot be as bad as the factory ones!

Thats a good time scale, we have two years until the big day but stupidly put the imm 2019 as the deadline, I think it will be hard to make that one with the amount of panels this needs and the amount of free time i get..
