I bypassed mine, you need to join the blue/red and blue/brown wires that go to the pink relay under the dash. You can either use a loop wire through the relay to join the two pins or if you don't mind cutting your loom cut the relay off and join the two wires. I used the loop wire first to check it worked then cut and soldered the wires together. Have passed MOT's since.

Can I ask. Did you link the blue/red and blue brown wires together but they were still connected to the relay or did you just unplug them off the relay and connected them together?

Hi,

Remove the relay and bridge them together in the socket, or better still cut the wires off and join them together by soldering or a butt connector.

Cheers  :proud:

Ive seen on a land rover forum that there's a replacement bypass relay that may do it YWZ10003L. Don't know if landy and mini dim dip relays are the same

First to test I made a loop wire just using the original plug but I've now cut the plug off entriely

They are the same relay I believe. Ive seen inside that relay and it is just a bar which effectively joins the wires.

I took Jellyboy and Cals advice and unplugged the resistor. I also cut the fingers off my rubber gloves and used them as a sock to keep the connections clean and dry should I wish to reverse the process

I ended up taking the fuse out and that sorted it

I just unplugged the dim-dip connector on my 1997 Land-Rover Discovery and it was all fine.
