Ok it is time to do a bit of a service on my old welder and i am thinking of converting to a Euro torch as they are easy to remove etc. great for storing and transporting and as mine is most likely in need of new liners and switches and more it seam that it may be cost effective.

my question is what rating of torch would you go for?

so any over 150amp rating? 200 to be safe?

Hi,

I don't think, like most welders, that you'll ever get a constant 160a out of it as according to the data plate you'd need 23a from the mains to achieve it plus a duty cycle of about 5%. I'd go for a 150.

Cheers  :proud:

Did your mig have a gas solenoid on it already?

Looks like a similar torch to the one from a seller in Germany?  I have had one for about two years and it still works well.

Yes it did. And it could well have come from the same seller. 63 euro inc postage.
