Morning all. I could really use some technical advice. I have stripped the car back to a bare shell and now rebuilt back up.

The car has no working gears! Symptoms as follows:

Gears can be selected - all are selectable in the box while the engine is off BUT there is no drive on the wheels. You can’t turn the engine over by hand by turning the wheels.

New clutch, flywheel and boss
New slave
New master
New bearing
Clutch arm moves and is set up right

All gears are there without depressing the clutch while the engine is off

Can anyone advise where the issue lies? It’s as though the clutch is permenantly on / off and I have a box of neutrals.

What mini are we talking about here? Model, year, engine size etc etc Verto clutch, pre verto clutch, BMW head conversion.

Need more info - talk about bare shell but did you rebuild the engine and gearbox too? O_O

2000my cooper sport - rebuilt engine and box from a block and pistons. Cooper S Works conversion.
Engine works fine I.e starts and runs clutch rotates on primary gear by hand when I was setting up.
As I said I would expect to put the car into gear and rotate the wheels to set the valves but it’s not happening even though I can select all gears inc reverse without using the clutch.
