Right so I've managed to do a bit more today in between other bits and bobs.

First things first was to sort out the spit side of things remember me saying in the post above that i needed to make something as a way of locking the spit off in multiple locations well here are some pictures of what I've done. Notice the use of an old A series gudgeon pin ;D

With that completed and now steadier, I then decided id start removing the companion bins ive start to drill them out on the N/S ready for the half floor repair.

Once you start digging you get to see all of the previous owner repairs.

I hope to get some more done tomorrow if the weather is good and I'm not busy.

Progress has been a little slow lately due to commitments etc but i managed to get a couple of hours on it the past couple of days making a start on preparing the door step and A post repairs.

With the door step removed it became obvious this wasn't going to be a walk in the park its had many 'bodges' over its lifetime and I'm starting to wonder if its cost effective to pursue this shell with the amount of work this one needs.

The next step was to cut the existing panels to fit the door step repair panel. Only issue I've been having here is finding a tool to get the corners of the old panels removed. so need advice there was looking at air saws potentially? I'm still deciding my next step whether its better to look for another shell or not.

Sorry to say that yours is about normal for an unrestored shell these days.
You'll need to search hard for a much better one and then theres no guarantees it hasn't been bodged.
Just look at Trixy in my signature, she even had an MOT when she was bought but lord alone knows how? Maybe Stevie Wonder did it!
