Best Answer imack , 10 July 2018 - 11:32 AM

3m body caulking comes in strips and is thumbed into the seams. Its also used to seal window regulators to doors and instrument housing to bulkhead. Its over paintable too. Go to the full post

Hi,

While removing the wings, a-panels etc to replace. There's what I can only describe as a hard putty behind the seams.

As this is from the manufacture I assume it's function is to keep water out. Can anyone confirm, know what it it so I can replace it when I weld the new panels back on?

Cheers

Seam Sealer.

There are many different brands, some are "brushable" from in a tin, some are in cartridges like mastic/caulking for use with a skeleton cartridge gun.
