The boot appears to be ok on the joint, could it be the wheel bearing?

i would be stripping it before ordering anything. it may just need the seal reseating and the grease redoing. or it may need everything new.

Grease from the CV is most likely due to it being packed full, to full, and finding a place to escape when on full lock. I've done it myself.

I'm more concerned about the lack of grease on the ball joints. When were they last greased?

I honestly couldn't say,I've only had the Mini for 5 weeks,it has only done around 500 miles in the past 4 years,so I'm gradually sorting things out.
It has however always been MOT'd.
What's the recommendation for ball joint grease,a couple of pumps?
Thanks

Until it comes out of the boot is my preferred greasing method. But considering you've got a few problems, I'd suggest an afternoon of striping, cleaning and inspecting. Probably worth looking at the car at some point to....I'll get my coat.

So where's the nipple on the lower ball joint,it's a disk brake set up,I notice the top one but not the bottom one?
