Ether choke or the heater valve.

looks like choke from where its connected on carb linkage

Do you have a cable connected to the heater valve?
Just to the left of your red screwdriver.

Hi,

It looks like a temperature sensor is fitted where the heater valve should be so maybe the cable is surplus to requirements?

It looks like some blue plastic sleeving slipped over the Choke Cable.

It looks like some blue plastic sleeving slipped over the Choke Cable.

Exactly what I was thinking. I do similar where my oil pressure gauge pipe is very close to the coil bracket. Protection.

Exactly what I was thinking. I do similar where my oil pressure gauge pipe is very close to the coil bracket. Protection.

 

 

Yes, I too also do it on the choke cable, ours are bare plated metal and any contact with the wrong electrical bit (eg, our starter solenoids are in the firing line) and it doesn't make for a good day.
