Looking for a scissor type ball joint splitter.

Obvious choice is the mini spares one but its £27. But is it better?http://www.minispare...ols/660550.aspx

On Amazon there's a 19mm Draper one for £13 https://www.amazon.c...joint splitters or a 20 to 45mm one for £12. https://www.amazon.c...joint splitters

Which one is best option?

I have the scissor type Minispares one.  It's made by Sykes-Pickavant and works well.  The others may too, see what everyone else say...

10a from machine mart when I bought mine. Can’t fault it and if you break it you can just take it back with the guarantee.

One of those rare occasions when cheap is ok - a tenner is all you need to spend to get a scissor type that does the job as well as something twice the price. Grease the threads lightly before you use it.

The official BMC workshop tool was feathered down to less than 1/8".

Look how thick the jaws are in the Amazon picture.

You might well find that you have to grind / machine that thinner before it will fit between the rubber dust seal and the suspension arm.

I use the fork type, I got one with a long reach handle from a parts supplier, it works well but can tear the ball joint rubbers
