Right basically fit the diff as far to the right (as you look at the picture) as it will go.The diff is pushed so far to the right that the crown wheel is touching the casing.
Now fit the diff housing with all the bolts but just pinch these bolts up (don’t torque them up).
Now fit the right hand (again as you look at the picture) output shaft housing with gasket and nip these bolts up you will notice a gap when tightening these bolts up which will gradually become nothing this is making sure the diff is now central to the housing.
Once your happy the diff is central torque up both the diff housing & the right hand side output shaft housing.
Once these are torqued up put the shims in that you removed on strip down in and put the left hand output shaft housing on (WITHOUT the gasket) put all the bolts in but put them in loosely so you can get an accurate measurement with a feeler gauge in several places to see what the clearance is between both the diff housing and output shaft housing
As I’ve said in a previous post
If you have the RHP bearings fitted to the diff then these require 1-2thou preload
If you have the bearings that have THRUST written on the race then these require 4thou preload.
Any questions then ask away, apologies if it’s not clear I’m more of “I can show you how to do it” kind of guy
