My newly built 1132 is using about 1litre per 100 miles.

Think it’s knackered already!

Something isn't right there ?

I know. It’s a bit of a nightmare!

When you rebuild were the valve guides changed? What about stem seals?

I'd say it's using too much oil for the above, so could it possibly be that the rings haven't bedded in correctly?!

Stem seals look ok.

Rings / bores pressure tested at 180, 180, 172, 180.

******* build and poorly set up initially.

I'm losing just under a litre / 100 miles on a straight six at the moment due to stem seals. Rest of engine confirmed fine after rolling road test. Perhaps worth a check of the stem seals, might not be as bad as you think? Just a thought.

The head is newly built too. The stem seals appear to be in place and ok. I did have smoke originally when first running in and I assumed bore wash. I got some poor advice from the engine builder regarding running in. Now been on the RR at Slarks. Still using lots of oil but none coming out the back as smoke, and oddly none appearing on the garage floor either. No idea where it’s going...

Is the oil draining back into the sump (gbox) properly?

Yes to the best of my knowledge. Bit of oil on the jiggle pin too.
