Correct. Where it points to means little. As long as it points at the terminal of the cap that has the lead attached to number 1 spark plug when it should be.

The only caveat to the above is will the vacuum can allow enough rotation to set the timing,Steve..

Or the amplifier. Which why the Metro had a different installation angle.
