Hey guys,

Can't seem to find this anywhere. i can only find a single box centre exit or a twin box side exit type. Is it possible to have a twin box centre exit? I imagine some modification is needed?

I really want a quieter exhaust system but like the look of centre exit exhausts.

Hi,

Do other manufacturers make what you want?

If not then I think your suggestion that there's not enough space is probably correct.

You could buy a van or estate as they're a little bit longer!

Cheers  :proud:

He is after a twin exit centre exit.

I used to have one, I got it off minijosh92 on here and ended up selling back to him when I had a clear out so they do exist.

hmmm... I wonder how I missed these!

Any idea why this twin box side exit is so much cheaper?

Is there any harm getting just the cheaper twin box side exit and having an exhaust mechanic modify it to be fitted at the centre?

Sorry Nick, dont quite get what you mean. Are you saying that the back box alone is 26 quid and I don't need to buy the rest?

you were asking why it was so cheap.  and I would not go modifying it.

i guess the main question is, can I just get a RC40 rear box and add a custom resonator and regular exhaust tubing from a seller here? Or get a twin box RC40 and have the bend in the pipe straightened so that it becomes a centre exit?

My main priority is to have a quiet but nice sound (hence twin box), followed by performance as this is part of a slow upgrade towards a stage one kit. Bit by bit as I have enough money

You want a single box RC40, Twin box will be far too quiet

See I have a twin box rc40 and wouldn't want it louder ( it's not loud just louder than the pea shooter standard)

I run a twin-box centre exit RC40 system on my rally Cooper S. It is within the noise limits for rallies and works well.

I can't see myself having anything other than the twin box for the RC40. My current exhaust isn't the pea shooter either, the last owner replaced it with some massive thing that bellows like a rhino in heat. When driving on the motorway i fear my brain is going to melt out through my ears! Was worse when I had the pod filter (switched back to the airbox now).

The question is one of maximising cost savings. Would I have to get the original RC40 twin box or can I save on cost by getting just the RC40 muffler and get an aftermarket tubing and resonator over here in Malaysia? Its the shipping cost and the taxes that are the real killer.

Alternatively I could get the cheaper side exit twin box unit and get it modified so that it can be installed as a centre exit.
