Extra Indicator Warning Lamp

Best Answer Bat , 21 July 2018 - 04:46 PM

Hi,

The bit where you spliced both sides onto one wire is where you went wrong.

Green and red to one side of the bulb and green and white to the other side of the bulb.

NO ground to the warning light.

Cheers  :proud:

Hi, after converting to a central speedo I'm struggling  to see the green  indicator warning lamp at the top of the speedo when I leave them on as my aftermarket steering wheel boss doesn't have big enough lugs to cancel the indicators after turning corners. I have bought a green lamp that I have mounted in the 3 gauge pod in my line of sight the problem I have is that I have connected a wire to each of the green/red and green/white wires going to the speedo mounted bulb and spliced them into one wire coming to my new lamp but instead of the indicators working independently I get all 4 indicators at once.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Indicating left uses the righthand lights as earth and vice versa. The high resistance of the warning lamp means the "earth" side doesn't get enough juice to light up. Just in case your new light has different enough resistance to make weird things happen.

Ah that's why it doesn't flashing to the right now I've rectified the wiring, does this mean I'll need another green lamp for the right indicator then?
