I'm stripping my gearbox and am wondering if anyone has the bearing remover as per the photo that they could get some dimensions from it so that I can make one? Outside Diameter, the counter bore diameter and depth, full width, slot size etc. Also a picture of it would be great.

Cheers

I did make one of those only about 2 or 3 years back, prior to that, nearly 30 years ago I made one from an old bearing;-

I'll also say that I find the Chuchill type quite clumsy to use by comparison, and although I now have one, I still gravitate back to old faithful.

ah right cheers, I'll see if I've got any bearings that will suit as it doesn't look like a double that you pull out.

Thanks, I did see them. I've got access to a lathe and mill so would rather make one.

2.430” diameter,
1.004” slot width
0.495 thick at raised edge,
0.440” thick in centre
0.070” approximate width of flat section of raised edge
Rear side is flat

This actually the one for the 3 synchro box, but I’ve never had an issue using it on a 4 synchro.
I think the 4 synchro one has the centre raised again so as to push equally on the inner and outer races of the bearing.

Excellent, thank you very much.

Necessity is the mother of invention of course at 6.30pm on a Saturday evening - alternatively you can make the spacers from a sheet of hardboard cut out using hole cutters (2" and 1⅛") Might look like a bodge but works perfectly.
