Using Minispares upper arm repair kit, I'm trying to refit the roller bearings into the shaft on my upper arms.

How exactly does it go in? I know its supposed to be a tight fit, but it seems too tight to go in at all. Is there a trick to getting it in?

press it in with a vise.and make sure it is straight.

if you dont have a vise big enough then a soft face mallet will do it.

You could also put some all thread through and pull it all square with a big washer under the nut.

I used a soft mallet and a block of wood. Went in perfectly!

Thanks for the advice everyone.

One side went in fine using the vice method.

Other side I've struggled with. Managed to get it about halfway in, but now won't budge. I've tried the vice on it but its tightened up as much as it'll go and it won't move. Same with the threaded bar. Also I've tried hitting it with a mallet until l was exhausted and it still won't budge. So I've just had to leave it for now

Had this happen with radius arms, what you will find now is your bearing is screwed, what I find happens is if the cavity is not scrupulously cleaned the bearing will “ pinch “ and it spindle will not go in, a tiny wire brush attachment on a die grinder works wonders here
