Hi,

  I'm afraid I don't  own a  Mini , although  I do have quite a  few diecast ones.

I am  trying  to find out  information about  a children's book about a red Mini which I used to love  back in the  70's.

I have  tried all other lines of  enquiry  without  success, which is  why I have registered here.

The book is from  the  early to mid  70's and  is about a red Mini with dark windows who (I think) shared a garage with a  vintage car, which was  possibly a Rolls or a Bentley.   The  Mini gets  stolen  and  finally ends  up in a  scrap yard, before  being rescued  and returning  home.

Any of this  ring any bells ? I was hoping  that  some of  you who collect Mini related  books  and  items might  have  some recollection of it.

   Thanks,

    Will

It wasn't  Speedy , the artwork was  less cartoon like .  It was  the  same era as the Gumdrop books,

.After  racking  my  brains  last  light , I think  the  Mini  might  have  been  named  Gem.   I remember  a  line  in the book  which  went  something  like ' He had  dark windows  which  made  him look  mysterious' .
