Do you guys think I could get away with running a hif44 on a 1 L Mini?

i know a 44 is over kill but I know the condition of that carb. The hs4 I have to go on that came with the engine I would need to rebuild and would save me some time what do you guyss think?

Ta!

Is it a standard or modified engine?  If it's well modded and needs the airflow the carb will work well, if it isn't, the carb will still work but you'll lose low down torque and MPG over the HS4.  You'd need an inlet manifold which doesn't have too large a diameter too.

If you limit the lift of the dashpot you can effectively choke it down to make it act like a smaller carb. This would make it more useful on a standard or mildly tuned 1L then.

Phil.
