Haha thats kind of a tongue twister!

Anyways, going to pick up my new mini this weekend from Italy and drive to Austria. It's a 1990 Mayfair 998.
Just asked the seller if he tanks unleaded or adds lead. He said he runs it on super95 without any lead added.
How can I know if the engine has been rebuilt for unleaded or not? He said the engine was "done" a few hundred km ago... But his English is so bad(and my Italian even worse) that it's hard to get answers like this out of him...

Should I take a risk and run lead-free or add just to be safe? Any negative effects of running lead in a non leaded and vice-versa?

Cheers

A 1990 Mini should have come from the factory unleaded and normally there is a green unleaded sticker visible when you open the bonnet. I had a mid-1989 998cc Mini Mayfair which was unleaded from factory (and had the late type brake servo update factory fitted).

Bet the mini was too early but moderns have a smaller diameter neck so the diesel nozzle won't fit!

Wait, that's a thing?

Yep, putting leaded through a catalytic converter ruined them, I've got a 1994 built mayfair complete with the restrictor in the filler neck.
