Hi guys I’m new to the forum and have just started to restore my 1988 mini. I need to replace the front sections of the floor pans and both the inner and outer sills so I have ordered half floors from m machine as they worked out as the best value. My question is should I just cut out what I need to use from the new panels or as I have complete half floors should I just replace it all even though the rear floor pans only have minor surface rust? Any advice from people who have gone through this would be great.

to be honest i would have ordered a full floor. braced up the upper body and then just cut the bottom off and fitted the new. much easier work.

Now that you have bought half floors i would personally use the complete item rather than section them.
A whole floor like Nick said would be better BUT as long as you can weld then half floors will be as good. Just a bit more work.

Thanks for the reply guys I will look at fitting both half floors instead of patching. I didn’t feel a complete new floor was necessary and like most people I am working to a budget. The extra work involved doesn’t matter as I enjoy the project and I can also weld so once complete it will be as good as new.
