I still refer to that book from time to time, mine a well thumbed 4th edition.

Some front covers from my collection of David Vizard's early 1980's 'Mini Tech News' monthly magazines, published in the days before Miniworld or Mini Magazine.

MTN was published by DV from Jan 1980 to Dec 1983 and in the days before any monthly Mini magazines was an essential read for Mini tuning enthusiasts, Triple C by then was reducing its coverage of the Mini as other far more modern cars were by now taking its place in the world of small competition and performance saloon cars. I was a subscriber and MTN Roving Editor at the time.

Can't remember how I started getting them, maybe something in the Motoring News

 

It was a small booklet that he came out with, only a few a year

 

It was news on tuning from DV when he was in California

 

I think they predated his blue book, a lot of the info from them ended up in there and still applies today

I bought the book when it first came out in 1977 so as you say it must be a first edition, I will have to look after it.....especially now it has been signed by DV.

was a bit before me. my first Mini was in 86

Its bonkers really Vizards  tech news came by post from California...

 

All pre tinernet and the Motoring News had about 3 pages of parts ads then

 

I used to get Minis given then, 1/2 decent ones were 30 quid...now its 500 quid for a pile of scrap
