Its bonkers really Vizards  tech news came by post from California...

 

All pre tinernet and the Motoring News had about 3 pages of parts ads then

 

I used to get Minis given then, 1/2 decent ones were 30 quid...now its 500 quid for a pile of scrap

it would be nice with the modern tec available now if David could redo them as PDFs to buy.

Don't know how I would've got hold of a US one? Maybe they were sold over here too.

 

Might be persuaded to sell if someone wants to make a collection!

Can't remember how I started getting them, maybe something in the Motoring News

 

It was a small booklet that he came out with, only a few a year

 

It was news on tuning from DV when he was in California

 

I think they predated his blue book, a lot of the info from them ended up in there and still applies today

I had no idea about Mini Tech News but I was to young then.  I remember though Vizard having a column in Fast Car magazine around 1990 which was great.  He could put so much knowledge across with just a few paragraphs.  Unfortunately Fast Car went downhill rapidly soon after by becoming a clone of Max Power magazine - Vizard was gone and their most technical articles became stuff like Splitfire sparkplugs and fart can back boxes.

Never knew they did a hardback Modify your Mini....maybe because its such a hard life in Aus...hahah
