Hi there,

I am new to this forum so please forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong place! If that is the case please let me know where I should be posting my question.

I may have to challenge an assessors valuation on my 1998 rover mini copper 1.3 mpi after someone smashed into the back of me. I have the Classic Car price guide 2018 but that only lists prices for the Rover Mini Cooper Sport.

It is a minefield! Would anyone be able to point in the right direction with :

a) good places to check auction prices/sold prices

b) apart from auto trader and ebay, are there any other good sources for ads with cars for sale to help with proving the value of my car?

Thanks so much!

Hi

this is a tad different from valuing a pristine or renovated car, if it was your in the wrong place, seems to me your in a ok placeack to get an idea.

What you have is a valuation from an insurance company that does not recognise classic cars and your getting an old car £500 jalopy price

If you do not have a classic policy with an agreed valuation and it was your fault then you would probably have a bit of a battle on your hands as the offending insurer wont want to pay

But as there in the wrong you only have to prove what it will cost to replace, plenty of Photos of other for sale condition of yours to others etc. Still may be a battle but keep pushing as they have to put you right.

Keep the car in your possession and buy the scrap back you may avoid a C cat that way or even a D cat if your lucky..
