I'm sure he's pulling yr leg !!
The only ones I've seen had 300 stamped in to them, but that's not at all to say there was other stampings. As far as I am aware, there was only ever one P/N (AEG248) for these so I doubt there'd been a change at any point.

Cheers guys so it looks like they were all 300's and like Nicks some had the circle machining.
I think the 300 comes from inch pounds torque....about 25 Lb Ft and exactly what it should be torqued too...even in Greece LOL

Wow, Moke; if you can come up with that sort of info, I'm sure you must be able to find the the grade of steel used for the cranks in BMC's 948 diesel engines that were fitted to the Morris Minor Vans, used by the GPO.

Cheers for that. I may have that somewhere,,,,,,, I didn't know those engines were fitted to any road vehicle, but there you go ! The only application I was aware of for them was in a Mini Tractor

Oh yes, they were in the vans before they showed up in the tractor; and they found their way into Canal Barges.
Never heard of one in an aeroplane, but I have seen the engine from a Reliant Robin in one, when a pilot dropped in at the aero club !
