My 1995 spi suffered a loss of power and backfiring on acceleration. Easy you say, vacuum pipe issue.yes one split so changed them. No difference. Checked all other pipes, fuel trap clear, ecu inlet clear, temp sensor changed, compression test ok, fuel filter fairly recent.
Today I noticed the black thing in the attached picture is snapped. Could it be this?
Tried to see what it is called and where to get a replacement but no joy.
Any opinions if it could be the culprit and if replacements are available?Attached File  2FAA4EE1-0BF6-4134-AD37-C103AC6D48D8.jpeg   62.45K   5 downloads

You will get an answer here for sure as I did

on recommendation changed the AIC valve (I think) on the inlet manifold stopped a lot of jerking about there are a coupe of valves that are responsible for this I believe

Hi,

That's just there to hold that wire, don't think it does anything else.

Take a look at the dizzy cap, rotor arm and plug leads...?

Cheers  :proud:

Yes. That was the first port of call. All renewed. Been thinking could be manifold gasket?
