Why Are These Plugs For?

Just having a wee poke around the engine bay and I’ve seen these. Any idea what they are for?

Oh it’s a 1996 mini equinox spi if that helps

1st photo (near the rad) I'm not too sure. 

 

The 2nd photo (white plug) is the diagnostic socket for the MEMS ECU fitted to your SPi car. It should have a dust boot over it, I'd recommend cleaning the socket out and getting some sort of cover to protect from dirt etc..

The one near the radiator looks like it might be for the dim/dip resistor.

Cheers guys, pointed me in the right direction. Seen some beautiful engine bays today at mini in the park. Figure I’ve got a year to sort mine out, hence the initial exploratory work
