Do we think the new offering from 123 is worth £400?  It has Bluetooth so that it can be set up on your tablet or android/iPhone and you can deter theft of the vehicle by disabling the unit with a pin number to re-activate (which does I admit sound quite cool)

Recently fitted mine. The quality looks great and Bluetooth works well
Hopefully lasts longer than the Aldon amethyst I had fitted

Having the disabler is a nice feature. CSI have a similar unit that uses a 'dongle' for around half the price of the 123+, though 'tuning' is done by what now seems 'old school' with a Cable Connection.

Being Bluetooth, surely it can also be hacked?

They'd have to break in to power the car up, then have the nonce to realise that it was Bluetooth, then have the skills to hack it - if they want it that badly they'll get it whatever you do

True, however, I did a google on this and had some interesting results, not just in regards to it being hacked, but other issues. Generally users seemed happy, but not all (and they didn't strike me as 'whingers'), eg

400 quid used to buy you a few minis ? I wouldn't be able to justify the cost on this to be honest, especially with so many alternatives around. The anti theft is a neat thing, but let's be honest, how many car thefts these days are someone breaking into the car, hotwiring it,..? They just pull them on flatbeds and drive off..

To be fair you'd only have a tenner in change and I'd prefer a more standard looking dizzy for my retro car/engine
