What size wheels are you using? I'd imagine that 10x4.5 are great for lower bhp cars but do turbo'd cars require bigger wheels?

Go for whatever wheel you like. Turbo minis are running all kinds of wheels. I should be running 12*4.5 with 165/60r12 a539's. I might buy a set of 10's, with KAD calipers, but unlikely to be honest. I would personally stay away from 13''.

Speed rating on your tyres may matter more. Fat tyres also don't put any more rubber on the road or give you any more grip, they just hold the shape of the rubber on the road better and creep less when cornering - then when they let go it's with less warning.
