It is possible yes and fairly easy to do.

I think the first thing is to identify anything you have currently fitted that's electronic in the car, as these will all need to be disconnected initially and then reversed following re-polarisation, don't overlook the Temp and Fuel Gauge Stabaisler if that's been changed to an electronic type.

You may also need a new battery to get the terminals where they need to be as this will be turned around, so check that before you start and also the Battery Clamps on the Cables that what is now the -ve Clamp will open up enough to fit the +ve Terminal of the Battery and likewise that the +ve Clamp will close up enough to fit the -Ve Terminal of the Battery.

Next, swap the Battery around and connect it up. Temporaryily connect the D (the small one) Terminal of the Dynamo to Earth (which now should be -ve), then take a another temporary wire from the solenoid and touch it to the F (the big one) Terminal of the Dynamo, be aware, it will spark when you do this, you should only need to leave that on for less than a second.

Reconnect the wires to the Dynamo and it now should be -ve Earth.

Reconnect all your electronic stuff, being aware that too will all need to be reversed.

Just to add to what the others have said, but this cannot be done if you have an alternator installed. You have to replace a positive ground alternator with a more common negative ground type. Moke's instructions apply for a generator only. Also after swapping the battery leads don't forget to switch the leads on the coil as it is polarity sensitive, but not fatally so like the alternator. Starter motor, wiper motor and the rest of the electrical system doesn't care if it pos or neg ground.

Try -- https://mossmotors.s...Negative-Ground

Don't forget that if there's an original radio then that will be positive earth maybe. Either change the radio or fit it into an isolation box where the mounting screws/bolts don't fit directly into the bodywork.

Hi,

That won't work unless you isolate the aerial too, otherwise the magic smoke will appear!

Cheers  :proud:
