So guys car is almost done just doing the last fidderly bits ive got 2 6inch speakers on rear shelf 2 4inch on dash and soon to install 2 6inch speakers underneath the lower dash board.. my question is this will i need to install an amp to power the speakers its all running on a fairly boggo head unit im also thinking of installing a small sub?

Hi,
Well you'll struggle to wire 6 speakers to a head unit without killing it and yoully certainly need one for a sub. If your head unit hasn't got a sub output socket you'll need a sub amp with a built-in crossover.
Otherwise go all in and do a proper job with a head unit with RCA outputs, multi channel amp and component speakers
