One of the best products I've found for this kind of thing is Autosol Caravan and Motorhome cleaner, works great on wheels too.

Ah OK. I would guess a lot of our products would be unavailable over there unless they come from US, etc.
For large cleaning jobs I use a product called Jizer which washes off (I bought a 5L can!). I've also used Gunk, but for smaller jobs, and keeping a clean engine clean, I have a spray bottle of Meguairs Engine Cleaner.

It'll also promote accelerated corrosion on all untreated surfaces.
Yes, just be careful with Oven cleaner, don't leave it on too long.
