Fill the tank, then drive 150 miles and you should be safe to do it.

A mini should easily manage over 150 miles before running out, but take a jerry can if you are that worried.

Great stuff no need to take out the tank then really thanks for that I’ll try the knife truck assuming u just tap it round ?

If you locate the knife on the two lugs, you can use it as a lever to rotate the locking collar.

Tapping it round with something is the other way to do it, but I found my knife trick easier.

I replaced my fuel sender unit a few weeks ago. I just siphoned all the fuel out into a couple of Jerry cans, replaced the unit and put the fuel back. If you are getting a new unit it might be worth replacing the gasket at the same time.
