I  have some very old and damaged door cards in my 1972 Mk3.

Trying to match the "red" is an issue

Below is a photo of my seats which are the same colour as the cards

I have laid 2 swatches on the seat

The one on the left is Maroon the one on the right is Grenadine to show the subtle differences between the 2 and also shows my trim colour as the base

Anybody have any idea what colour the trim is?

Not sure if your is original nor what the exterior color is, but the only red interior for an MKIII was “Icon Red” according to ‘the original Mini Cooper by John Parnell (great book).

I had trouble when I was matching some trim on blacktulip. The original lighter red is called geranium which also had a different grain pattern. The darker one was used with mk2 and mk3 minis. I'm not sure what colour your seats are but it looks somewhere in between the two.

Can you get a swatch from underneath, when I've stripped seats in the past the areas underneath fixing clips have been a lot darker even in areas where sun can't get.

Yes I can. Will do that tonight and see what it looks. Like. I did find a website with a similar car and it says outside is damask red and interior is spanish rose. Been to many websites including newton's for Spanish rose however they don't stock it.
