Car Battery Charging Question...

I’ve been meaning to sell my Seat Ibiza for awhile and now I’m finally getting round to do it the battery is dead. I’ve just got a CTEK charger, connected it all up and it’s currently running in ‘desulphation’ mode, but it’s made all the indicator lights light up dimly. Anyone with more knowledge know why this is? I was under the impression I could use this charger without disconnecting the battery...
Thanks in advance
Tom

sounds like you have a short somewhere that was the main cause of your battery going flat in the first place.
I would pop the earth off till you get the battery charged and then do a quick parasitic drain check.

as above
some modern cars don't like the battery being charged when connected to the car
esp the 'smart charge'system
they also have major problems with jump charging from another car
just make sure you have the radio code if it has one , when dis-connecting the battery

I had something like that the other day and it turned out that the battery was shot. The "desulphation" function being active fooled me. Finally the battery would not charge with anything.
