Hey, where better place to ask than on here!

I'm looking to roll the rear arche lip on my old civic due to the rear tyres rubbing slightly. My main concern though is the water and crap that'll collect between the arch and lip once the lip has been folded in, so what's going to be the best stuff to use to keep it from rusting from the inside out?

I'm hoping to roll the lip enough to stop the rubbing, but not completely flat so that I can still get a cloth between the lip and arch to keep it clean and protected, but will have to wait and see how I get on.
