Mini Mayfair 1986 - 998 A+ This was a project and we have come to the point where we need to accept that we will not have the time to compete the vision. The money spent to date is well over £2500 not including original car cost. All of the running gear and suspension has been either replaced or fully rebuilt. The engine is standard (was intended for a young driver so no modifications) but does come with some nice stage 1 bits.

The Shell

The shell has been striped and prepared ready for the Paint stage. The new parts are, front wings, front panel, sills, floor section, rear subframe mount sections, and 5/6 patched rust sections. The underside has been striped back, rust treated with Fortan, painted with grey 182 primer, all seams sealed with PU sealer, and then coated with 2 coats of stone chip. This is a bigger piece of work than it sounds. The shell, doors etc have been rubbed down and filled where required, the bonnet and boot have not been touched as the intension was to replace them. We have a light weigh Arch Angles boot lid and mounts, but the original can be fitted if preferred. We have a Safety Device bolt in rear roll cage, which has been fitted, with all strengthening plates welded to shell. Arch Angle Miglia arches also come with car (set wheels at end of description)

Running Gear and Suspension;

Rear - New subframe, subframe mounts, and castor/camber adjustable radius arm mount brackets. Fully refurbed radius arms, new rear wheel bearings , gas shocks, suspension cones, and HI-Lo kit. Brakes have been rebuilt with new slave cylinders, pads, Flexi brake hoses and alloy drums.

Front - New subframe mounts (performance), All new Suspension Bushes and adjustable tie bars. The hubs have been striped and upper and lower joints replaced, and wheel bearings replaced. The front brakes callipers have been stripped, painted and all seals replaced, new high performance discs and pads. We have new gas shocks, cones, and Hi Lo’s. New engine mounts and refurbished engine tie bars with performance bushes.

Engine - 998 A+

The engine has been had all key elements stripped and serviced these includes; Head removed, valves reground, ports de-coked, all seals and gaskets replaced. Carb fully stripped and rebuilt with full service kit. New clutch plate and pressure plate, timing chain and gears, coil, alternator, ht leads, spark plugs, water pump, thermostat, etc The engine, as can been seen has also been fully painted. We have a new Mini Sport stage 1 kit which includes LCB manifold etc

We have a majority of the original parts, seats, windows, seals various, lights, steering column, dash clocks , heater , wiring loom, etc many having been refurbished. There are bits you will need to buy i.e door cards, carpets, windows seals, but these are personal to the build anyway, depending on final colour you choose for the car. Finally we also have a excellent new set of 7x13 Supertax black satin wheels, with new tyres, in addition to the standard wheel that are currently fitted while project is in progress.

We probably have even more than I have listed here both new and original, but remembering it all is hard. We have original reg documents, VIN plate, Number plates’ and some good history documents too.

This is a great project for someone to finish, with the shell being ready for someone to put there own mark on it in terms of colour and design.

Needs to be seen to appreciate the work that has been done but happy to answer any question either by email or phone.

You will need a car trailer to collect this as it is not fully setup and the steering is not connected.
