Ever been done? Would like it on my desert rat. Adjustable height at the flick of a switch, what's not to like?

not seen one yet that is any good. most look like they have been made by a child. some company was doing something the may work but the pressures that are needed are way way over normal air set ups. you will also have steering issues.

I think the way spider moke has done it is the best way. Replacing the shocks. A bit like using coil over conversions but a bag instead.

I gotta say, it's well proven now, with nearly 40 000 km on the clock, other than putting Air in or taking it out, I haven't had to touch them. Quite a few of the guys out here are running them now.

I've also developed a set for the fronts too now (about a year back), with the Moke empty and the front Hilos sitting adjusted so it's sitting on the Pump Stops, on Air alone, it will raise it to the Rebound Stops. I've done some short trips with these and so far, so good, though I've not yet done a bigger trip to complete the testing on them.

I'll also point out that both these set ups have significantly beefed up upper mounts and the lower mounts also receive some 'treatment' though less radical than what's needed on the tops.

Have you developed these to sell or just for personal use?

I no longer run a business and don't generally offer them 'for sale' but I can 'do' the odd kit.

Do NOT go anywhere near that AirRide company. The guy is a corrupt, thieving crook who makes frankly dangerous products. I've only seen one person make them work, and that was after the bottom arms split due to terrible welds and having to completely re-fabricate them. He had to go to court to get his money back I think. There is also member on here in the US (I think his username is meetthespeakers) who built a very good looking air suspension set up for his clubman estate, he was even able to get the sump to nearly touch the floor from what I remember. The most difficult part seems to be the lack of room for bags under the front wings of a Mini. Hydraulics are a much simpler option, and Rayvern do a good kit that many people have fitted.

While these can raise and lower ride height, they can only do so within stock suspension travel limits.

Hi,

Cheers Mokespider, I think you've just solved a major problem for me!  :D

Where can I get those front shocks from please?

I'll fit one in each corner, I'll have to mod the rear arches for clearance but that's no Biggie...

Cheers  :proud:

Thanks for the kind comments.

Now the 'bad news' !  Both shocks are custom, so not available off the shelf. I worked with one of our local manufacturers to develop these.

The Bump Stop though is good news. That's just a stock Special Tuning item.

All the Shock Pins are well up-rated, these are 1/2" dia and made from 4140 grade steel.
