Hi chaps thinking of fitting a battery isdolator hidden somewhere in the car ? I’ve got a mpi cooper and just wondered if it will do any damage keep turning the battery off and on, I’m going to link it across with a very small fuse just to keep the clock and alarm functioning, I think my main concern is the air bag and seatbelt tensioners going off!
Cheers chaps

Hi,

Can't imagine any issues with what you propose as with the link fuse in there the systems won't know the difference.

The air bag or the tensioners won't go off just because the battery has been disconnected, after all your supposed to disconnect it to stop them going off!

Cheers  :proud:

just buy a 'DIS-CAR-NECT"

easier than sorting it out your self.

You'll just have to re-register your key fob every time, pressing 4 times on unlock I believe, as it will reset... Not the end of the world. ?

Na, the car will have power, but the fuse will pop if you try to start it.

Hi,

You'll want a 15amp fuse in your bypass, anything smaller will blow if the alarm goes off and flashes the indicators..

Cheers  :proud:
