I havent been on this site for a few years so feel like a newbie.
I have spotted a 1972 mini thats forsale what questions should i ask?

you will be asking a bias question to the seller probably getting the best car in the world if not the universe as an answer. 

If YOU don't

then take someone who knows.

if you don't know someone who knows.

AA/RAC do inspections or maybe a local garage.

Lindsay Porter's mini restoration manual is a good starting point but as above if you're not sure I'd take someone along.

Main question - Is this genuine 1972 Mini or a later car (possibly stolen) with a fake identity?

Lift the bonnet & check if the front subframe has two bolts each side of the bulkhead, if it's one large bolt each side then just walk away.

Twin bolt subframe, roof gutter with drain holes that aren't above the vertical seams, round exhaust tunnel etc.

Then its settled. Were all getting projectors. Anyone want to buy a car?
