Remote Gear Linkage Problem!

Yes and that's to what I referred to in my post ^^.

 

It was used on the very early models, prior to using the half moon plug.

I am restoring my 1965 Cooper S. I have disasemble the remote gear linkage and cleaned painted and now time to put together. I have orderd some spares but I cant find one! I dont know what it does and there were non when I took it of the car. In the end were it meet the diffhousing it has a halv moon gromit and some sort of plate. The gromit was orderd new but this plate? What is it? Its under the "fork" has part number 66 at Summerfords explode view of the remote linkage. Please help!

The item that you've referred to, P/N 22A1373 wasn't fitted in these, they were using instead of the half moon type plugs in the much earlier shifters.

Thank you for your help, but its not the plug is the metal plate under the fork and behind the plug. Wish I knew how to post a picture....

all i found was this NLA rubber from the earlier remotes.
