Riveted Rims -- Valuation Required

So, I have two 10" riveted rims (pics. attached).

 

The centre rim is attached to the outer rim by -- in total -- 8 rivets. Two per 'flap'.

 

I know these are from the early minis 1959 - 61 and were then replaced by spot-welded versions for safety reasons.

 

It is said that these are rare.

 

Are they?

 

Any idea on valuation?

 

I also have another rim with -- in total -- four rivets. One per flap. Anyone ever see one like that?

Yes they are quite rare and desirable if you are restoring a very early Mini and want to get it just right.

 

It would be worth asking on the Mk1 forum below as Bill Bell of the 1959 Mini Register will probably give you the best answer to your questions:-

What about the rim with only one rivet per 'flap'?

 

Anyone ever see this before.
