Noticed today that the brake fluid reservoir had slowly emptied. Followed the brake lines and found that the line connected to the caliper was leaking at the connection... see picture. What are my best options you guys think?

* Just use some teflon tape?

* replace fitting?

* Replace full brakeline?

* Other?

Not 100% sure but should there not be a copper washer between the flexi pipe and calliper body.

If you look at the attached link it is showing the copper washers on the Male ends.

Here is the other side, no leaks.... and there is quite some space to cover for washers.

The specification calls for a copper washer. This is mandatory to prevent leaking.
Mini spares sell them.

Hi,

Unless it's a taper thread, unlikely in aluminium castings, then a copper washer should be used.

Cheers  :proud:

something wrong there. what is the caliper? what make of hose?

my first thought is the hose has not been made correctly. and as other have said there should be a copper washer there. but your hose does not fit correctly.

so could be a hose or a caliper issue.

the pipe should seal on the taper at the end check the seat inside the caliper and the thread ... if it doesn't go down tight it will leak

look at the end of the pipe and the one fitted on the other side isn't leaking it's clearly tapered

They are Wilwood calipers and have 1/8 NPT thread inside. Both breaklines are the same (non tapered) but are a tight fit with the right threads. I will try some copper washers, that makes sense to me.... thanks for all the help and suggestions!

i thought they looked aftermarket the pipe in the picture has a tapered seat .... that's where it seals inside the caliper ... you've get a lot of space there to take up with washers and more than one washer will still leak .... check the seat inside the hole and the seat on the pipe for damage this is almost certainly where your fault lies

If they are wilwood calliper they should have a taper thread so the correct way to seal is loctite 636 it’s the proper sealant for them put int on the thread and leave it to go off
