Spi Megajolt

Best Answer RooBoonix , 13 October 2018 - 09:56 PM

Meagjolt is just ignition

Are there any plug and plug standalone ECUs for the SPI cars?

Check out specialist components, I believe they make one called the Typhoon Go to the full post

Hi all,

Is anyone running a megajolt in their spi mini? How difficult is the install? And are they easily mappable?

Cheers!

There wouldn't be any point. The ECU already does what the Megajolt would do.

You can map the megajolt but the SPI ECU is not mappable, I've been looking at it for mine and wondered if there would be any benefit so I will be following this thread.

I mean more in turns of tuning as I know the stock ECU is unable to be remapped. Just interested to find out if you could run one on a stock SPI car and play around with the tune to produce more power? Is that a silly question to ask? I’m new to this so sorry in advance!

I believe Delta 400 is the ECU that SC now provide. They do have a kit that provides only an ECU for the SPi.

I think it depends on one's definition of plug and play, perhaps someone who has the SPi replacement ECU installed will reply.

Thanks for the reply’s guys! The specialist components kits look exspensive but really good quality. Do you know of anyone using one on a stock SPI and if so what power gains are achieveable?

I had a quick look at this before and thought it looked expensive! Do you know what the price for one is?

There are no cheap options for stand-alone engine management. The closest to a ‘budget’ setup you get would be MegaSquirt.

If you do have a standard SPi, there's plenty of power upgrades to go before a aftermarket ECU is required / desirable.

Hi,

I'm sure the website said it was €699 when I looked earlier.

Cheers  :proud:

Thanks again for the reply’s guys!

Maybe it’s better to look Into some other modifications first.

It’s a standard SPI I have so maybe I should look at a modified head, LCB manifold, K&N filter and 1.5 rockers. Any idea what this would produce? Would the stock ECU handle it ok?
