Hey all

So Im planning to change my seam trims as my mini currently has stainless steel trims and Id like to match them to my red body.
I ordered 4 non-primed seam trims from minispares and Im ready to do my first paint job.

Apart from getting the colours matched, Im wondering how is the best way to go about painting metal.

My plan was to: scotch brite red pad the new seam strips -> get por-15 metal ready (or similar if someone can advise a good alternative) -> then basic metal primer from a paint shop -> 2K paint (probably get me a spray can for this)

Is brite-padding the metal enough before adding primer or is a rust preventative/self etch primer really worth it?

Should I por-15 metal ready the inside of the seam trim too to stop rust developing or do I paint the inside of the trim aswell?

thanks
