So I'm trying to decide which badge to put on my MPI. Normally I would always go for the original, but its in pretty poor condition, and replacements that i have tried are not 100% the same as the original and look cheep imo. In the original, the emblem has metal letters for "MINI' which stick out within the sticker itself, where as all aftermarket ones I have tried is simply is just a sticker with a printed logo, the green is  also different in the after market ones. 

Hence why I am considering a different front badge, though I can't decide if I want to part from the original look. What do you guys think. Also, from what Model is the black badge that I have chosen:

You can have the original badge with red colour as well, was the badge for cars that'd had the Cooper Conversion kit put on them IIRC??

Cheers guys, all about personal preference then I guess. I'm still undecided, but I'm leaning in the direction for the black one.

they both look black to me.

 

That shield was used in the late 70's and 80's when the tried to make Mini more of a brand in it's own right. Plenty of others: same shape, different graphic.
