Seriously... I dont know what Dan is going on about... if you look at any site with an opinion on this topic written by ANYONE who knows what they are talking about such as Keith Calver on Calver's Corner (minispares.com), they will slate 13's.

On a standard 1275 mini, they take over half a second longer to get to sixty, they look ridiculous without a bodykit (and apart from the zeemaz kit they all look C**p.. and dont even think of putting a spoiler on a mini).

10's are the best but are more costly to fit because of the need to fit front discs if you have a 998cc with a stage one or more - not a good idea to rely on drums all round. 12's are the most practical option as they look good, you can buy deep dish wheels and it wont be easily outhandled by other mini's. Being that me and my mates have an 850cc with 10's, a 998 with 12's and a 1310 with 13's, all with Yokohama's its easier to see comparisons... the 998 keeps up with the 1310 from the lights (well at first!) and both the smaller engined cars are faster and drive a tighter line around corners/roundabouts.

Quote from Calver - "The 13-inch wheel/tyre combination brings out the worst in everything Mini suspension and brakes orientated - but to many the aesthetics far out-weigh all other considerations".

If you want to read it all the link is: http://www.minispare...e//ArticleV.cfm (go down to 13-inch combinations)

There you can read all the negative (and no positive) points on 13"s. Sorry apart from the fact that they 'might' look better to some people because they are 8% bigger than 12"s .WOW.

Basically if your somekind of posing nancy boy who thinks the other kev's in their nova's and fiesta's care that you have 13's rather than 12's when they have 16/17" then your very wrong. Every mini owner will think your an ass for fitting them especially if you have a spolier as well. If you want form over function... buy a nova... dont wreak a mini.

Yeah you have to have a kit to have 13's. I think twelves suit the car in looks department better. 13's make it look silly as themanlegend above said. He seems to know what he is talking about!!

I do apologise for having a different opinion to yourself Themanlegend.

As I have said I think this issue is down to personnal preference.

I have pointed out quite a few of the negatives about 13's, but I really don't like 12's. The car wasn't designed for them and the ones I've driven have always been dreadful compared to the 10's, which I far prefer.

There are plenty of other people who write articles about Mini's, and lots of them dislike 12" wheels too.

i got 13" because i wanted starmagz and that the only size they come in, as for the coments that 13" look "ridiculous" with out a body kit i think is stuped. all it is all down to personal preffrence, and i think some people should think about that before calling people cars "ridiculous" and "C**p".

it sounds to me that 10 are alot better than 12s or 13s,..........but, theres always a problem with the caliper sizes
