Hi guys
Im restoring an spi and have put in a complete new floor.
The new floor didnt come with the screws to fit the tunnel heat shield and to be honest thats where i found alot of corrision as water clearly traps between the shield and the floor where it is bolted on.

I want a better solution in order to reduce corrosion in the future. Anyone seen anything better?

Ive heard peope sticking dynamat under the tunnel but i thought that was accoustic matting?
I know i could lagg the exhaust but was looking for a shield solution ?
Thanks

mount a metal standoff to the exhaust. no real need for it to be car mounted. and then there is the question is it really needed?

Was wondering the same myself as just broke a corner off right on the screw mount whilst removing the subframe

it would really only get hot hot if sitting ticking over for ages

Brilliant suggestion about mounting the shied to the exhaust itself !!! Great thats a good solution.

I looked at heat tape but i think an air gap with a shield will prevent heat transfer better?

That will be plan B ;)
